Alvin Antone Evers, 88, a resident of the Banks community passed away on Friday evening, March 9, 2018 at his home.

Alvin was born on November 1, 1929 on the family farm in Verboort. He was one of fifteen children born to Albert and Mary (Hermens) Evers. He was raised in Verboort and attended Visitation Catholic Grade School and Verboort High School with the Class of 1947.

Alvin started working on the farm with his father and after a period of time started working in the woods. He had worked in the woods most all of his life and had even worked in the California Redwoods as a timber faller, equipment operator and he also worked at the Banks Mill. Alvin had lived in Arcata, CA for a couple of years before settling in Banks in 1961. While living in Banks he started working in the North Plains Pole Yard and then in the Banks Mill.

Alvin enjoyed the outdoors camping hunting and fishing. He also like to garden, go clamming and socialize with his friends. Alvin also enjoyed making sausage and pepperoni with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings

He is survived by his eleven children and their spouses; Cathleen Phelps of California, Donna Evers of Hillsboro, Larry Evers of Forest Grove, JoAnne and Donny Cawrse of Florida, Bob Evers of Forest Grove, Eddie and Helen Evers of Hillsboro, Pam and Steve Harr of Banks, Rose and Dick Brodie of Canada, Carol Kuhn of Portland, Greg and Jennifer Evers of Forest Grove Donald Evers of California, seven siblings; Florence Herinckx, Agnes Oblander, Norma Sue Peters, Gene, Joe, Ned and Fred Evers, twenty five grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren.
