Dixie Rochelle Evers, 79, a resident of the Beaverton community passed away from complications of cancer on Thursday evening January 12, 2017.

Interment will take place at Visitation Catholic Cemetery at a later date to be followed by a celebration of life event.

Dixie was born on January 29, 1937 in Hillsboro, OR. She was one of five children born to Richard and Elma (Gottlieb) Baughman. She was raised and received her education in Hillsboro.

She met her future husband, Vern C Evers while at a 4-H function. They were married on December 5, 1953 in Hillsboro. They made their home in Beaverton where they raised their five children; Rob, Dan, Sherry, Shaun and Lisa.

Dixie was first and foremost a loving and devoted mother to her five children. She also worked outside the home in customer service at Kmart in Beaverton. She enjoyed knitting, cross stitch and reading. She played softball, followed baseball and was very active as a "Dance Mom" for her daughter Lisa.  She played bingo with her friends and was an avid supporter of her grandchildren's sports.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vern, a son Dan, her parents and sister Linda.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses; Rob and Val Evers of Hillsboro, Sherry and Tom Hertel of Sheridan, Shaun and Rose Evers of Salem, Lisa and Curtis Kemper of Sherwood, twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great greatgrandchildren .

The family suggest donations in Dixie's name to the Dizzy Feet Foundation in honor of her love for the art of dance
