Ambrose James "Ham" Chiotti, 102, a resident of the Hillsboro community passed away on Wednesday evening, January 6, 2016 at the Harmony Guest Home in Hillsboro

Ham was born on May 15, 1913 in Carbonado, WA. He was one of three children born to Bert and Louise (Peirano) Chiotti. He moved with his family to Hillsboro at the age of 13 years (1926) and attended Hillsboro Union High School graduating with the Class of 1931.

He served his country during WWII for three years and was honorably discharged in 1945.

Ham met his future wife, Martha Spiesschaert, while working at Birds Eye Cannery in Hillsboro. They soon began dating and were married on January 9, 1940 in Cornelius, OR. They made their home in Hillsboro where they raised their four children; Ronald, Stanley, Diane and Charles.

He worked as a truck driver for Portland General Electric from 1945 until 1977. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and dancing. He sang in the St Matthew choir and was an active volunteer at the church.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha, his parents, brother Vincent Chiotti and sister Lena Stout, and a granddaughter; Anne Marie Chiotti.

Survivors include his four children and their spouses; Ronald and Gayle Chiotti of Brea, CA, Stanley and Lynn Chiotti of St Helens, OR, Diane Munden of Hillsboro, OR, Charles and Sue Chiotti of Hillsboro, OR, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great- grandchildren.
