Martha Cora W. Chiotti, 100, a resident of the Hillsboro community died Wednesday evening, March 20, 2013 at the Harmony Guest home in Hillsboro.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at St Matthew Catholic Church; 427 SE 3rd Ave in Hillsboro.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. following the Rosary.

Family and friends are invited to attend a reception following the Mass held in the Parish Hall.

Rite of Christian Burial will take place at Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Verboort at 2:30 p.m. on March 26, 2013.

Martha was born on March 11, 1913 in Hillsboro, OR. She was one of six children born to Arthur and Dinah (Peters) Spiesschaert. She was raised on the family farm in Cornelius and attended public school.

She met her future husband, Ambrose Chiotti while working at Birds Eye Cannery. They soon began dating and they were married on January 9, 1940 in Cornelius, OR. Following their marriage, they made their home in Hillsboro. Martha was first and foremost a devoted and loving mother to her four children. She also helped with the family’s income and had worked as a sales clerk for Sprouse Ritz retiring in 1977. Martha was a devout Catholic and loved to volunteer at the church. She enjoyed gardening, dancing and volunteering at the Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro.

She is preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and a granddaughter; Anne Marie Chiotti.

Survivors include her husband Ambrose "Ham"; four children and their spouses; Ronald and Gayle Chiotti of Brea, Ca, Stanley and Lynn Chiotti of St Helens, OR, Diane Munden of Hillsboro, OR, Charles and Sue Chiotti of Hillsboro, OR, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
