Obituary

Ruth D. Krieger, 87, a longtime resident of the Forest Grove community, died Tuesday afternoon, November 15, 2016 at her home.

RUTH DORIS KRIEGER was born on August 1, 1929 in Langlois, Oregon, the daughter of the late Sherman Dewey and Esther (Chenoweth) Keeler. They resided in Bandon for a few years, later moving to Grants Pass, and finally settling in the Forest Grove community, where she was raised and continued her education.

She was united in marriage to Edwin A. "Ed" Krieger on January 12, 1946 in Forest Grove, Oregon. Following their marriage they resided in the Forest Grove community.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ed on July 10, 2001 after celebrating over 55 years of marriage together.

During school, she worked at the Tip Top Restaurant in Forest Grove, where she met her future husband, Ed. She later worked in Quality Control and Assembly at Tektronix, Inc. in Beaverton for over 20 years and as a Chef at the Forest Grove Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #2440.

Ruth was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Forest Grove and was a Elkette at the Forest Grove Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #2440, having served as a past President of the Elkettes.

Among her special interests she enjoyed spending time with family, making pies, hosting large family dinners, camping and her monthly card game night with her friends playing hand and foot.

Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Esther Keeler and her brother, Kenneth Keeler.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Allan and Linda Krieger, of Otter Rock, Oregon; Gary and Meredith Krieger, of Gales Creek, Oregon; Sharon Robinson and Pavel Bauer, of Forest Grove, Oregon and Diana and Paul Waterstreet, of Forest Grove, Oregon.

Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675, or to Autism Awareness, Autism Society, PO Box 69635, Portland, OR 97235, in her memory.
