Carol attended Verboort grade school and Verboort high school.  After she graduated from high school she worked in a bank for one year and then started College at the University of Portland, which she attended for   two years before transferring to Pacific University at Forest Grove.  While attending Pacific she met Gordon   Moore, from Canada, who was enrolled in the College of Optometry at Pacific.  Carol graduated from   Pacific in 1959 and on December 28, 1959 Carol and Gordon Moore were married in the Visitation Church at Verboort. Carol was teaching in the Forest Grove school  system at the time and after finishing out the  school term, joined her husband at New Westminster, British Columbia.  Carol continued her teaching career in the Canadian school system.
